Placemaking and Sport Pilot:
Azur Sport Sante, France and pilot city Nice

Association “Azur Sport Santé” is a French regional Health Enhancing Physical Activity (HEPA) resources and expertise center in Nice, certified by the Regional Health Agency. Our purpose is to facilitate and promote the practice of physical activity as a health tool, all throughout life.

In order to get the people moving, especially the younger generations we have to offer new and innovative solutions. This will be the case within the Placemaking and Sport project in France where digital technologies will meet street art to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyle in a fun and active way through a giant board game.

We have created the Move Game a couple of years ago to raise awareness about the importance of health enhancing physical activity and ever since we have been working on deploying it in public spaces as an active design so that people can use it autonomously. The development process goes a long way and includes a creation of an interactive website that works as an application, new questions, categories, videos, exercises, etc.

Placemaking and Sport project will make our dream a reality. To start, the game will be deployed in two public spaces in the city of Nice. The first will be a part of a collaboration with the National Museum of Sport and the city of Nice that will transform the whole neighborhood into a giant playground through active design. Get a glimpse of the process in the video from our meeting in Nice.

The second one will be painted with a local street art association in a public garden in the city center. Stay tuned for some exciting updates in the coming weeks including “the making of” video of the Move Game as a street art workshop.
